Introduction

The Central and Eastern European Recreation Association (CERA for short) was founded in 2010 to respond to the social challenges of the 21st century. Century. The association, which also includes neighboring countries, is aimed at professionals who research, teach and work in the field of recreation and its interfaces, students of the subject and anyone interested in healthy lifestyles and health promotion. The aims of the association can be summarized as follows:


  • Conducting scientific research in the border areas of leisure activities (sports science, health science, nutritional science, sports psychology, pedagogy, economics - tourism)
  • Integrating the latest expertise into its educational and advisory services
  • Active participation in scientific conferences, preparation and publication of specialist articles focusing on health promotion in leisure time, disease prevention, education, training and education.
  • Organising and delivering free recreational health promotion programmes that help individuals, families and communities improve their quality of life through regular active leisure activities.
  • Emphasising the "ageless and borderless" nature of recreation, which emphasises cooperation, acceptance and shared experiences between generations and nations.
  • Working with the non-profit and for-profit sectors where we act as an umbrella organization for professional coordination to promote quality services inside and outside the workplace.
  • Through our community networks, our programmes and our scientific journal RECREATION, we want to contribute to the dissemination of a health-oriented mindset in everyday life on a societal level. The renewed official website of the journal: https://journal.recreationcentral.eu/recreation.
  • Active participation in national and international competitions.
  • Contacting professional and cooperative partners and sponsors who want to promote and support the health-conscious lifestyle that goes hand in hand with leisure activities.
